Team Building Activities
We provide a range of Team building activities at Castleshaw to cater for the differing group needs. Our most common requests are listed below. Primary Classes The emphasis here is on activity and fun. We use a range of activities aimed to encourage co-operative and collaberative behaviour. This usually takes the form of a half- day of team games to encourage co-operation and mixing, followed by a half- day of more focused activities in smaller groups linked to curriculum targets, such as mapwork or habitats. We work closely with the Oldham Linked Schools project, which aims to forge stronger links between children from different communities within the Oldham area. Secondary Groups At secondary level, Team building days tend to focus on smaller group sizes, and place greater emphasis on the plan - do - review model. The Activities chosen can range from group based initiative tests to High ropes activities, Orienteering or Raft building, but the focus will be to plan and execute a series of group tasks, with a review and suggestions for improvement discussed between each task. Depending on the aims of the day, this may be guided towards particular curriculum areas, and lends itself well to areas of the PSHE Curriculum. (eg. Personal Action Planning, Emotional Wellbeing, Healthy Lifestyles, Relationships, behaviour and practices in the worklplace, Personal safety). Adult Groups Over the years we have organised a number of Away Days for groups such as Teachers, Outreach workers, Office staff and Medical consultants. The aims of these days and the activities undertaken have varied, but have all focused on getting to know colleagues better in a more informal setting. Feedback has been particularly good from staff based at different sites within an organisation. Groups can opt for full-day activities, or use the centre to hold staff conferences, broken up with something a bit more adventurous! |
