Guidebooks
The OEE Service and Castleshaw Centre has a comprehensive series of guides for visiting groups:
Things to do
The Castleshaw Valley has many public rights of way, and there is plenty on our doorstep to interest the recreational walker or biker, the historical scholar, the cafe connoisseur, or even the keen-eyed TV & movie buffs.
Insurance
The Service is covered under the Council's Public Liability and Employer's Liability policies; these do not cover loss of personal items, or provide compensation for injury except in cases on negligence. Additional personal insurance should be taken out by the organiser for group leaders and participants.
Health & Safety
At Castleshaw we strive to offer high-quality outdoor learning and educational visits, for the benefit of the children and young people. Our practice is inline with National Guidance which is recognised by the Government. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE)’s School Trips guidance provides a link to National Guidance.
