The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Award is very popular with many School and Youth groups here in the Oldham area, yet running the Expedition section can present a number of challenges for supervising staff.

We can support staff and participants in a number of ways..

• Expedition training packages for DoE Groups

This normally takes the form of a number of weekends (residential or non- residential), and will culminate in an assessed expedition.

• Training for group leaders

We can offer training courses in Navigation, Hill skills and camp craft leading to a number of Nationally recognised Awards.

• Expedition support

We can provide qualified staff to assist with supervision of Award groups while on practice or qualifying expeditions.

• Training Base

The Castleshaw centre building and camping field are regularly used by groups undertaking expedition training, both within and outside the expedition season

Physical Recreation
Many of the Activities we provide, such as kayaking and climbing, can count towards this section of the Award
Residential Project
We periodically organise summer residentials which qualify for this section of the Award. Information on this will be listed in the Courses section.
